I'm pleased to announce that the Anabaptist Network are again co-sponsoring a conference on Preaching in a Changing Culture.

Following an initial day conference together in April 2007, the Anabaptist Network and Cell UK are co-sponsoring another day exploring ways of preaching more effectively in contemporary culture, as well as considering alternatives to the sermon.

Stuart Murray Williams and Laurence Singlehurst are the main speakers, but others will also be involved.

Although some of the same themes will be explored as last time, these will be addressed in different ways, and we will also be exploring other topics. So those who came before will find much that is new and opportunities to explore further issues we looked at previously. And those who come for the first time will not be at a disadvantage.

This event will be held in Birmingham, at the International Mission Centre in Selly Oak, on Saturday 18th October, 2008. Lunch will be provided.

Further details and a booking form are available to download from this page.

‘When some one comes to church and hears only one person speaking, and all the listeners are silent...who can or will regard or confess the same to be a spiritual congregation?’ (Ambrosius Spitelmaier, an Anabaptist, under interrogation in 1527.)
